BLACKWING STUDIOS

Blackwing Studios was most notable as the Record Studio used in the early career days of Depeche Mode, Fad Gadget, Dead Can Dance and Yazoo. It operated out of an old church (which was damaged during World War 2) from 1980 to 2001.

One of its key personnel was record producer John Fryer who recorded many of the acts for 4AD, Beggars Banquet, Mute and Rough Trade record labels.
