Sviatoslav Richter

Sviatoslav Richter (1915 - 1997) was a Russian (Soviet) classical pianist and is considered to be one of the greatest classical pianists of the 20th century. He was born in Zhytomyr in the Ukraine at a time when it considered to part of the Russian_Empire. Around 1921 (aged 6) his family moved to Odessa in Russia and he remained permanently settled in Russia from that period onwards.
