ABOUT HIM:
After living and performing in different countries around the world (USA, Brazil, Spain, France, Switzerland), Henry Hugo finally settled down in Melbourne, Australia in 2018.
Henry Hugo music journey begun when he was around 11 or 12 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, the place he was born on December 15th, 1976, playing old songs with a friend of his, who was a Beatles and all 60’s and 70’s music fan.
When he was 13, Henry got his first Bass Guitar which was his first instrument to start a school band playing mostly Punk songs, and the band was called 'Sacramento'. A couple of years later the band decided to replace the bass player and Henry left the band and began to write his own songs, which would become his first full length Album/Demo “The King’s Land, (1993)” recorded in a 4 Tracks Foster Porta studio with a friend of his.
After the record was finished, he put a band together called 'The Electric Company' which was a trio in which Henry played Bass and sang as well as the songwriter.
The band also had some other members through the years. Eventually, a few years and records later, around 1995, Henry began a world journey who took him to different countries and in which he began his side band 'Henry Hugo and The Kindred Souls' which consisted of musicians who joined him in different places, so the band mostly would have different members as it travelled around the world.
It would be fair to say that his music styles through the years is pretty much related to his geographical position, even though the DNA of his music is embedded in every song and record. So, there would be his, American years, his Spanish years, his Swiss years (where he also became a Swiss Citizen) and Australian years. There are also other places where he resided for a short period of time and have some musical significance.
