Billy Pinnell

Billy Pinnell is a Melbourne based radio presenter and music journalist best known for his iconic 'Album Show' on EON-FM and 3MMM during the 1980's & 1990's. He was a former music director for 3KZ and has presented music segments for 3AW, 3RRR and other stations.

Internationally, he is best known for his work interviewing Ozzy Osbourne on the documentary 'A Coffee with Ozzy'. Billy currently presents a music podcast on Apple Music as well as music segments for a number of stations around the country such as 6PR in Perth and regularly posts music reviews, interviews and updates on his Facebook page.

Billy Pinnell's Album Show has been an important music media landmark in the Australian music industry since the 1980's when it would become a vital Sunday night ritual for musicians and music people in the know, to tune into what Billy said and presented. The show fulfilled a major music education for many important Australian musicians and music industry identities becoming a 'last word' on what should be listened to and why, such has been the influence of the highly respected, much loved and humble Billy Pinnell with his encyclopedic music history knowledge and insights. Although his audiences are not as big as those hey days of the late 20th century, his media appearances, reviews and podcasts are still ardently sought out by hard-core serious music fans.
