MUSIC INDUSTRY COMMUNITIES / ASSOCIATIONS - AUSTRALIA
Inner City Sound is a Facebook music group in Australia created by and administered by Murray Bennett. The group name is in honor of the book and CD set written by music journalist / author Clinton Walker that covered the history of Australia's Punk and New Wave movement of the late 70's and early 80's. This book and CD set also inspired someone to create the Inner City Sound Database which the community also draws upon as part of its forum and points of discussion and focus.
The importance of this group is the many contributions of its members uncovering and publishing personal histories and memorabilia on this music scene that has not been seen before, therefore expanding the knowledge of this important phase in the history of Australian music.
