DESCRIPTION: The Jazz Messengers were an iconic jazz ensemble led by drummer Art Blakey that helped launch the jazz solo careers of many of its members including Wayne Shorter, Freddie Hubbard, Keith Jarrett, Chuck Mangione, Wynton Marsalis and Branford Marsalis.
